Soft Pastel with a few strokes of acrylic paint here and there interwoven were used to recreate this interesting scene in Paris. The hustle and bustle of the street scene against a winter sky always pulls me into a creative mood. Lively and full of movement with extremely loose brush and pastel work unless you stand back and it all appears quite tight. Impressionism is my favorite style in art!
The original to this work was Jean Beraud who was known for this beautiful style of work, albeit far less colorful as he seemed to prefer more subdued colors.
You will find these works in other galleries, but I also believe they deserve a gallery of their own in honor of the master's who taught me by the heritage they left to each of us.
